Jen “Odd” Glantz here! I always find weeks that have a Monday holiday are hard weeks to stay focused and get things done. I just want every day to feel like a vacation but instead, I find myself spending Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday staring at my unruly email inbox as the sun tries to catch my attention.

I found a handful of new weird jobs to share with you. Maybe some of you will pursue these gigs and maybe some of you will look at these gigs as a way of getting inspired about something cool you can start doing in your own life.

Either way, on these short feeling weeks, keep things odd.

Odd Gigs if You Need Adventure

Gross Stunt Tester

If you ever watched Survivor of Fear Factor and thought: whoa I want to be on the show! A paying gig for you, instead, could be the person who tries out all the gross stunts (like eating the disgusting things and cuddling with the spiders).

This gig usually pays $800 and you can read more about the gig here.

Water Slide Tester

One of the best jobs out there has to be this one! You can test water slides before they are open to the public as a way of ensuring they are safe. This guy does it and he pockets $34k a year. I’d call this a cool weekend gig for a person who wishes they were a kid again but has bills to pay.

Golf Ball Diver

This weekend, I watched my husband play golf. To make it fun, I started to think about all the odd gigs that they have at golf courses (from caddys to those that operate the drink carts). But then I found out about the people who fish for lost golf balls (in ponds and forests) and make cash from returning those balls. How much cash?

This guy says he’s made $15 million as a golf ball diver.

Wildlife Photographer

If you’re someone who greatly adores wildlife and photography, perhaps you pursue this as weekend side hustle or even a full-time career. You can travel the world, get up close and personal with animals, and get paid to do it.

How much can you make? Average salary is $40k. You can learn more here.
