Odd Jobs That Pay You to Travel….Far Away from Your Current Job

I’m so guilty of escaping winter this year.

I couldn’t take anymore o that 18 degree (but it feels like 2 degree) weather, so I got on a plane and tip-toed back to my parent’s house in Florida.

I only brought a backpack with me because I have the kind of job that doesn’t require much. I just need my computer, wifi, and some comfortable sweatpants.

But once I got here, I wondered about you.

Yes, you.

Well, those of you who feel so stuck in your current lives and careers.

Those of you who want to travel - YOU LIVE FOR TRAVEL! But you hardly get to do that.

I know in a pandemic, travel is tough. But let’s pretend it’s not a pandemic, and let’s talk about this:

You know you can get paid to travel.

IN SO MANY ODD WAYS.

So today, from Florida (where LOL it’s randomly so chilly), I’m going to do my job for you and create a list of gigs that will pay you to leave your current “situation”, if that’s on your to-do list.

My only ask: please take me with you!

Let’s go:

Backroads Tour Guide

Travel Counselor

Pack Up and Go Influencer (my dream gig. I applied…3x)

Workaway (travel / give back program)

Work Abroad Programs

WWOOF (Work / farming / travel)

More farm / picking jobs around the world

Travel Publicist

Oil Rig Worker

Travel Nurse

Luxury Travel Advisor

Geologist

Yacht Broker

Teaching gigs (for all levels)

Be a Translator

Spa Staffing Jobs Worldwide

Yoga Travel Gigs

Cruise Ship Jobs

Hi Jen! Can you do a newsletter about how to write a book/how you first got started writing books? I feel so deeply that I need to write a book but I am not even sure how to start. Maybe it sounds dumb, but do you just save a bunch of different Google Docs for each chapter? Is there a class or support group that can help me not give up? And if you manage to actually write it, how do you go about finding a publisher?
